ABOUT Resort Overview

Jigatake Snow Resort is located at the southern end of the HAKUBA VALLEY, nestled directly at the foot of the Northern Alps. The ski area is characterized by its broad, gentle slopes, making it an ideal destination for families, beginners, and first-timers.

In fact, the Kids Park features a unique Troika lift; a large sleigh-like device that allows small children and beginners, who may be unable to or might feel uncomfortable riding the standard lifts, to safely and easily access the top of the Chibikko beginner’s slope for skiing, sledding, or other snow activities.

Beyond the traditional snowsports, Jigatake offers a full complement of activities and services such as snowmobile forest tours, tubing, night skiing, fantastic food, a full lineup of rental gear, and more to ensure your time on the slopes is the best it can be!

Snowmobiles are relatively rare in Japan, especially outside of ski resorts, but this exciting hands-on tour allows you to venture a little deeper into the mountains on a snowmobile - that you drive yourself! They may seem a little intimidating, but in reality these simple machines are operated with just a throttle and brake. Prior to setting out together, the instructor will provide a thorough orientation, so everyone including first-timers are welcome. Night Skiing

Jigatake Snow Resort is open for night skiing weekly on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the season. On these days the slopes are regroomed after daytime operation ends and before night skiing begins, allowing you to enjoy fresh turns on fully-reset corduroy slopes!
The machines that perform this important work are powerful, impressive vehicles, especially when viewed up close. Imagine riding in one. Well, at Jigatake, we give you the chance to do just that. Before night skiing commences, you can experience the thrill of riding shotgun in one of our snow groomers!
